Singapore CBD Hotels: A Concise Overview

Our recent stay at Capri by Fraser China Square in Singapore left us thoroughly impressed and rejuvenated. From the moment we entered the sleek and modern lobby, we knew we were in for a treat. The hotel’s commitment to cleanliness was evident from the get-go. Every corner we explored, from the lobby to our room, exuded a sense of pristine cleanliness and meticulous upkeep. Speaking of our room, it was a stylish sanctuary amidst the bustling cityscape.

Taking the MRT and buses was incredibly convenient. I enjoyed just riding the double-decker bus to explore the town without a specific plan, and it was easy to just hop back in when I got tired. I could only visit Chinatown briefly, which was disappointing since it was just a 5-minute walk away.

Room was spacious. Very modern designs. Rooftop pool was very nice, wonderful views. We had a small incident when booking the hotel. We had accidentally booked the wrong dates of the hotel (booked July instead of June).

Overall pleasant experience, especially thanks to the Club Lounge access, which added a lot of value to the stay. A few areas that could be improved to match the standard the hotel aims to offer. Pillows: The pillows could use some upgrading or at least more variety. They weren’t as comfortable as expected for a hotel of this level. Bathroom Lighting: The lighting setup in the bathroom needs better design — when the bathroom light is on, it’s clearly visible from the outside, which compromises privacy.

Pros: Can’t ask for a better located hotel with an immediate access to MRT upfront (direct line to/from the airport and 2-4 stations away from major downtown shopping malls, and along major hospitals like SGH, Raffles, John Hopkins & Tan Tock Sheng), to F&B and grocery options of all ranges around the facility within couple minutes of walk, and very eco friendly one. Cons: the building is an office-hotel hybrid, with office space occupied floor below 12 under PS/100 (clearly signed at the entrance). The hotel entrance, however isn’t clear. Reception is located on 12th floor, which no one to great you at the door to redirect you to that floor, tiny direction engraved on wall by the lift; Lack of follow-through in communication between pre-arrival customer service and checkin counter; The room is designed with no tower rack/s or wall hooks in the bathroom or the changing area with sink. There three cute wooden hooks next to the TV however, therefore do expect a super wet floor from the bathroom out to the main sleeping area after showering (since there’s no hanging facility available) or ready to leave both towel and clothes on the toilet lid.

This hotel is conveniently located across the street from the Metro’s EW line (Tanjong Pagar station). So you grab the Metro at Changi Airport switch lines at Tanah Merah and you are in your room. Reception is on the 12th floor and is spacious with an open air area to lounge. Check-in and check-out were super efficient. Staff provided a briefing on hotel amenities.

The property has a great location in the business district, within walking distance of Marina Bay and Chinatown. It is just across the street from the famous Lau Pa Sat hawker centre, and the iconic evening Satay Street starts right at the hotel’s entrance. The hotel is clean, nicely designed, and has a relaxed atmosphere. The pool is cool and gives off New York vibes. The hotel feels more like a place to sleep—similar to a rented apartment—rather than a 5-star hotel.

I knew the rooms and the facilities would be amazing – modern, flawlessly clean, and beautifully stylish – based on other reviews. However, the staff was beyond helpful. They gave clear directions whenever asked, were super friendly, arranged massages and transportation. The room was cleaned daily (including changing sheets and towels, which as an American I’m seeing less and less), but at any time I chose through a simple alert. One day I accidently left the “do not disturb” sign on all day and only discovered it upon my return to the room in the evening.

Chose QT Singapore for a little getaway to celebrate an anniversary and was completely blown away by the hotel. QT Singapore is a haven of luxury and reinvention, perfectly blending old-world charm with contemporary sophistication. This stunning retreat invites you to embrace a bold new perspective, all set within the vibrant backdrop of a tropical metropolis. The lofty ceilings alone create a sense of grandeur, while every detail, from the rain shower to the Dyson hair dryer, enhances the experience. The design is a masterful mix of neo-classical elegance and modern flair, with rich wood tones, plush velvet, and intricate bevelled details.

We stayed in a studio room. Every room has a Nespresso pod machine and pods get replenished every day. Housekeeping staff did an amazing job and were super friendly. Shower power & heat were perfect. Beautiful body & hair products of excellent quality.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Dao by Dorsett AMTD Singapore and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment I stepped foot into the hotel to the day of my departure, everything about my stay was exceptional. The hotel’s impeccable service, modern amenities, and strategic location all contributed to making my stay truly memorable. First and foremost, the staff at Dao by Dorsett AMTD Singapore deserves the highest praise. They were courteous, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort throughout my stay.

The main reason I chose this property is the close approximate to the Marina Bay Sand mall. This hotel provides a free shuttle (booking required) twice a day to the MBS mall (6 minute drive). It provides a shuttle to a few other malls as well. Location-wise is a 4-minute walk to a hawker center Lou Pa Sat, and only a 2-minute walk to nearest 7-11 shop. A 7-minute walk to MRT station Shenton Way.

I searched several sites and saw people’s reviews, and the ratings for this accommodation were good, so I made a reservation. There were issues during the payment process, but the staff were kind and helped resolve everything quickly. ⁂ About Funan Mall I was surprised by the large size of the hotel when I first entered. From B2 to the 4th floor, there was the Funan Mall, a complex shopping center. On the 1st floor, there was a McDonald’s that operated 24 hours, which I used frequently.

This is my first time traveling alone, but I didn’t feel confident about staying in a dorm-style accommodation like when I was younger, so I decided to look for a hotel in expensive Singapore. The most important factors I considered when finding a place to stay were cleanliness and accessibility. The advantages of LiFFPunan are: 1. The rooms are clean. The bedding and even the floors were tiled, which I appreciated.
